Fletcher Boats

For ski, for wake, for skate

Hi all,
Drove up to scotland on friday night. Saterday afternoon took the boat out and it was great for about 5 mins. Then it started playing up by lurching randomly. So we took it back to shore to find that what looked like the steering bracket had sheered off.
So we spent all today stripping the engine down to get to the sheered bolts on the steering bracket. After stripping the whole power head off we found that the top engine mount rubbers had perished causing excessive movment on the bolts (which were very rusty anyway) and snapped them. And to top it off the bottom engine mounts are shot too. And when the top ones had sheered it then bent the shifter.
So overall the engine is beyond repair until we get it home and have the equiptment to fix it. Bit of a ruined holiday really. Was supposed to be the first propper holiday in the fletcher. So I now need to source all the new engine mounts and rubbers. Does anyone know where I can order them from for a yamaha 40hp 2-stroke?
Will upload some pics of our findings

Hmm thats not good. Try ebay, or failing that you may have to contact a Yam dealer.

If its not written off the engine, I suggest you give it a full check over as it sounds like its never been properly maintained.

Oh dear, sounds like a bit of a nightmare for you.

You could alays have a look at another Fletcher up that way, its for sale on the sportsboat forum at a very sensible asking price and from the description has been well looked after, here is the link to the page

one of the Sportsboat Fourm members (whose Fletcher forum membership is still pending - so he cant post here yet) has suggested you take the boat into Stirlings Marine if near Lomond, he advises they are pretty good for Yam stuff.

Thanks for the help. I did some searching on google and found a yamaha dealer calles bhg marine who could source the parts. So we cleaned the whole engine up and fitted the new parts. We are now back in scotland and we have built it back up on the boat and are waiting to go. Just waiting for some good weather now.
